Oliver Fisher has declared himself pleased to be compared to former British Number 1 Nick Faldo.
Fisher was narrowly beaten by Thomas Levet in a play-off at the Andalucia Open last week, after which the 19-year-old was described as "a great player" and "the next Nick Faldo" by the victorious Frenchman.
Speaking to BBC London radio, Fisher said that he was "flattered" that Levet had mentioned him in the same breath as "Britain''s most successful golfer".
"It''s a great comparison to be made and I''d love to be as successful as him one day," the Essex golfer added.
Fisher blamed his defeat in Spain on "a slightly bad tee shot" at the final hole, but backed himself to recover and claim a title on the European Tour before the end of the year.
Three-time Masters champion Faldo will captain the European team at this year''s Ryder Cup, which begins at the Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky on September 16th.
