Adam Scott claimed a dramatic victory at the Bryon Nelson Championship yesterday by beating US player Ryan Moore in a playoff.
The Titleist golfer threw away a three-shot overnight lead in Texas but then sank a 48-foot putt on the third extra hole to see off the challenge of Moore and clinch his sixth US PGA Tour victory.
American Bart Bryant finished third on three under par - four shots adrift of Scott and Moore - while Ian Poulter faded after a good first round and ended the tournament on four over. Carl Pettersson was the highest placed European player, finishing on two under par.
Commenting on his win and the tournament''s nail-biting finale, Scott said: "I dug it out of nowhere."
The Australian added: "I got away with one today I think."
Scott recorded his first PGA Tour victory in September 2003, when he won the Deutsche Bank Championship by four shots.
