US golfer celebrates two holes-in-one

An American amateur player could not believe his luck this week after hitting two holes-in-one during the same round at his local golf course in Iowa.

Ted Kemp, who plays off a handicap of 12, pulled off the amazing feat on two par-three holes at the Muscatine Municipal Golf Course on Monday.

Sinking his tee shot on the third hole from 130 yards, the 36-year-old then joked to his group that he would attempt to repeat the achievement, not realising that he would shortly do just that.

On the eighth hole, the charmed golfer took out his eight iron and hit a second hole-in-one from 182 yards out.

Finishing his round with a score of 78, Mr Kemp described the experience as "pretty unreal".

According to a study released by Gold Digest in 2000, the average golfer faces odds of 67 million to one for getting two holes-in-one in the same round.

Earlier this year, Florida golfer Leo Fiyalko became an overnight celebrity in the US when he hit a hole-in-one at his local club despite being 92 years old and legally blind.
