Martin Kaymer has been given the European Tour''s Shot of the Month award for June following his victory at the BMW International Open.
The Titleist golfer hit a superb six-iron approach shot during the first playoff hole in Munich which secured a birdie and saw off the challenge of Denmark''s Anders Hansen.
Stopping just seven feet from the pin, the shot allowed Kaymer to two-putt for an emotional victory on home soil. He later said that the six-iron was "one of the best shots of my career".
The European Tour is certainly in agreement with the German, describing the stroke as "sensational" and naming it June''s Shot of the Month.
Now ranked number 33 in the world, Kaymer is currently tenth in the European Ryder Cup points list.
Yonex golfer Colin Montgomerie took second place in the shot competition for his skilful approach to the tenth hole at the French Open, where he came second, while Ping''s Lee Westwood was in third for a shot during the third round of the US Open at Torrey Pines.
