Seve Ballesteros has returned to intensive care after undergoing brain surgery once more.
A statement from La Paz Hospital in Madrid described the 51-year-old Spaniard''s condition as "stable" following the procedure - his fourth operation in two months.
Doctors confirmed that Ballesteros had a catheter inserted to drain fluid from the brain, as well as undergoing a cranioplasty to correct a bone defect in his skull.
He is expected to remain in the intensive care unit for further monitoring.
Ballesteros was first admitted to hospital in the Spanish capital on October 6th, when he lost consciousness at Madrid Airport.
He is believed to have been making a slow but steady recovery at La Paz since undergoing three major operations to remove a brain tumour in October.
The golf legend amassed a total of 87 titles, including five Major championships, during his distinguished career.
He became the first European player to win the Masters in 1980 and captained Europe to victory at the 1997 Ryder Cup.
