Golfbidder Rating Guide

Head Ratings

10 New or Mint It may or may not still have the wrapping on, but the club has never been hit.
9 Excellent The head is only really shop-soiled and could almost be passed 'As New'.
8 Very Good The club has probably only played a few holes - it may only have been hit at the driving range. Either way, if there are any marks at all on the head they will be very light.
7 Good In the case of irons, there may be scratching from sand or dirt but no major chips. Woods will have no very obvious sky marks or chips and the face will be in good condition. No buyer will be disappointed with clubs described as ‘good’.
6 Fair In perfectly usable order but cosmetically not quite deserving of a 'good' rating. There may be minor stone chips in the case of irons and possibly light sky marks on woods resulting from normal wear and tear.
5 Well Used Iron heads will either have obvious chips and/or will not be up to much cosmetically because of age or misuse. Woods will probably show sky marks. For any clubs rated 'well used' we will normally elaborate as to why in the description.
4 Very Well Used In very poor condition. We will normally elaborate as to why in the description.

Shaft Ratings

10 New or Mint It may or may not still have the wrapping on, but the club has never been used.
9 Excellent The shaft is only really shop-soiled and could almost be passed 'As New'.
8 Very Good The club has probably only played a few holes - it may only have been hit at the driving range. Either way, if there are any marks at all on the shaft they will be very light.
7 Good On graphite shafts there may be a few light scratches. On steel shafts, one or two of the stickers may have begun to fray slightly but the shafts themselves will be in good order with just a minor scratch here and there.
6 Fair In perfectly usable order but cosmetically not quite deserving of a 'good' rating. There may be one or two minor wear marks on graphite shafts where they have rubbed against the bag. On steel shafts, some of the stickers will probably be fraying and there may be a few small rust spots - none of which will affect playability.
5 Well Used Graphite shafts will show wear marks because of age or misuse. Steel shafts will probably have heavily frayed stickers. There may not even be any stickers. For any shafts rated 'well used' we will normally elaborate as to why in the description.
4 Very Well Used In very poor condition. We will normally elaborate as to why in the description.

Grip Ratings

10 New or Mint Although we do rate grips separately, we trust that a detailed explanation of the rating system is not necessary. Suffice to say that, as with heads or shafts, if grips are in a very poor state this will be reflected in the cost.
