Sonartec SS 3.5 (Deep Face) Fairway Wood. New for 2006, the Sonartec SS3.5 will appeal to low handicap golfers and professionals alike due to its deeper face, producing an exceptionally penetrating ball flight, with the advantage of superb control and workability. "We expect the SS-3.5 will prove to be very popular among Tour professionals," said PGA Tour Representative Thane Fisher. The club features the new ST-385 ‘Hot Face’ alloy which increases ball velocity at impact, adding 10 to 15 yards for Tour-level players. The perimeter weighting system has also been further improved to tighten the dispersion rate and make it even easier to get the ball airborne. Driving Cavity on the sole allows for greater distance and control and a better balance weight distribution across the face of the club, resulting in more stability on heel/toe miss-hits and a wider sweet spot.
Deeper Centre of Gravity (CG) creates a penetrating ball flight with no balloon effect making the ball less apt to be affected by the wind.
