Callaway Big Bertha Hawkeye VFT Fairway Wood. The Callaway Big Bertha Hawkeye VFT fairway woods feature Callaway's Variable Face Thickness (VFT) Technology which allows manufacture of a very thin - yet strong - clubface. One of the earliest fairway woods to benefit from the 'trampoline effect' whereby the face 'gives' slightly on contact with the ball and then, in a fraction of a second, restores itself, catapulting the ball off for increased distance.

I recently purchased a Callaway HawkEye VFT 7 wood to complete the set. I used it for the first time last week on a Society day and picked up the prize for nearest the pin courtesy of the new 7 wood. I only wish I had added this to my set earlier.

Perfect for those 170/180 yd par 3's. I had to keep borrowing my wife's - hence this purchase. Has a slight draw which must be the weighting because my usual shot is a fade.
