Fredrik was a promising ice hockey player at age 10 and was also ranked in the top-30 in Swedish table tennis at age 14-15 but turned to golf when the local professional, Per Nellbeck, taught the entire Jacobson family to play. He earned his first handicap of 40, but reached scratch 5 years later at the age of 15.
He turned professional in 1994 and was a member of the European Tour in 1995 and from 1997 to 2004. He missed first 3 months of the 2000 European Tour Season after breaking his left thumb playing ice hockey for a golf professional’s team verses a tennis players side in the autumn of 1999. He needed an operation to repair the damage and did not return until the following March to finish 3rd, 2nd and 2nd in successive starts.
Fredrik began the 2003 season looking for his maiden European Tour victory but ended the year with a trio of titles to his name. He started with victory in the Omega Hong Kong Open, followed that with success in the Algarve Open de Portugal after a 10 week lay-off as a result of a wrist injury, and ended the season in spectacular style when he laid claim to the Volvo Masters, a victory which secured his 5 year exemption. His fourth place finish on the Order of Merit equalled the Anders Forsbrand's Swedish record set in 1992, and he was the first Swede to win three official money events in a single season on the European Tour.
He capped off the 2003 season by being the top scorer in the Seve Trophy, collecting four and a half points out of five. The following year he just missed out on a Ryder Cup place, finishing one place short in both the European Tour rankings and the world ranking points rankings, and not being selected as a captain's pick.
Fredrick rejoined The European Tour in 2008 for the 2009 season after concentrating on the US PGA Tour for the past 3 years where last year he failed to breakthrough and win; managing only a tie for 2nd place at the Ginn sur Mer Classic and the AT&T National. |

| 13-16 March - Arnold Palmer Invitational - Bay Hill Club and Lodge. In typical Tiger fashion, the world #1 sank a 24-foot putt on the 72nd hole at Bay Hill for his fifth consecutive win, much to the annoyance of Bart Bryant who was looking for his first win since 2005. This was his biggest challenge since this streak began 7 months ago, Woods outlasted 45-year-old Bart Bryant and won with a birdie putt on the 72nd hole for the first time in 7 years. He turned and slammed his cap to the ground, letting out a roar to celebrate his 64th career victory, tying Ben Hogan at #3 on the PGA Tour career list. |

| | In Fredrik Jacobson's bag... | | Fredrik, without ever really being in contention, secured a solid finish at the 2008 Arnold Palmer invitational. Fredrik recovered from a 71 in the first round to finish the tournament in positive numbers (-2) that saw him finish in a tie for 17th place. Fredrik is currently playing under the Callaway Golf umbrella. His bag started off with a Callaway FT-5 Neutral driver. This was accompanied by a Callaway X fairway wood and Callaway X Hybrid. From this awesome photo we can clearly see that Fredrik was using Callaway X-Forged irons and X-Forged Chrome wedges.
