I have been looking for ages for a 580 driver with the right shaft not just reg/stiff but what tip/ torque. First time i looked on your site there was the exact club i needed. Hopefully now i should start to bring my handicap down . I'm already hitting it25/30 yards further. YOUR site has got so much choice. thanks MIKE JONES

Having used an R580 non conforming driver for three years, I half expected the conforming version to be less powerful. Perhaps it is the Fujikura shaft but on the fist outing on the new Captains drive in day managed to win two long driving prizes. Excellent value at £49.00! Delivered in golfbidders usual prompt no fuss style.

I borrowed a friends 580 before taking the plunge to buy one. A great club that I'm slowly getting to grips with, I'm now hitting the ball further and straighter than ever. I expect to bring my handicap down with this club.

I initially bid for this item as it was on the Golf bidder auction for just £4! A week or so later I had won the item with an eventual cost of £20 (incl. post and packaging). I have taken the club to the range to see if there was any difference to my current driver. I noticed that it was really easy to hit and quite easy to try and shape the ball flight. If I was going to do anything differently to what I have done, I would have looked for the club in slightly better condition, although aesthetics aren't important and I would try to get a 9 degree loft as the club is incredibly easy to get the ball in the air.

Have always struggled with a Driver & after many years of trying, gave up using one & settled for a 3 wood. However a relative was given the Taylor Made which I used first on a range, then in battle. Wow !! Effortless !! I'm not a big hitter & now it flies. It's also very forgiving & the extra loft makes it easy to get in the air. You've guessed it..I've gone out & got one.

Just swapped my Taylor Made Burner for the TM580. The club gives me a little more distance and is much easier to control. It really helps re accuracy/ keeping the ball on the fairway. Excellent Value.

I bought the R580 driver after trying a friends. the improvement has been amazing. not only have i benefited from consistently straighter drives but distance has also improved. i would say that a sweet shot is now 20-30 yards longer (c280/290 yards). this is a very forgiving club and you really have to fall into or out of the shot to get anything like a wild slice/hook.

All I can say is that this is an excellent driver. I have only been playing golf seriously over the past two years and this is my third driver, the first was a Ping persimmion, the 2nd an Adams Redline. I decided to buy the R580 after using a playing partners for 1 shot. The first day I tried the R580 at the range I was very impressed, I have always been a straight driver (luckily) but never great on distance as I only use a 3/4 swing and typically was hitting my drives about 200-230 with the Adams. At the range the majority of the drives were all in excess of 250 (and 95% still straight). I then tried the club on the course for the first time and the extra distance continued. All I can say is that if you want a driver that you will give you that extra distance at a fantastic price then the R580 will not disappoint

I used this driver for the first time and i hit a drive that was level with the 150 yd to the tee marker, the hole was 479 yds. Shocked yet impressed, it went and just kept going. I do prefer the ball flight to my previous 10.5 degree driver.

This is without doubt the best driver I have ever used. Its large head gives you real confidence at address and alignment seems easier with this club than any other I have used. A drive off the sweet spot goes well in excess of 250 yards with quite a high launch angle so I don't feel I'm going to hit that low slice into the jungle.

Model Info 2005

TaylorMade R580. TaylorMade's 500 Series woods comprises three models - the R510, R540, and R580. All are titanium. Utilizing a two-piece face weld, the R500 Series' clubhead is composed of a high-strength titanium body and a cold-rolled titanium clubface. Manufacturing the clubface separately allows TaylorMade to make it ultra-thin yet extremely strong, so that it generates a more efficient energy transfer at impact, creating a higher COR. In 2003, the 500 Series won its third consecutive major championship when TaylorMade Tour Staff pro Mike Weir won the Masters using a R580.
