ipurchased the club as a gift for a young ugandan caddie called opio onito/his father was the ugandan open champion/his brother yokwe bacame open champion using a wilson driver i gave him /but died in a terrible road accident/his clubs were subsequently stolen/young opio has ne money bet is emerging as a junior champion/so im going to buy him some clubs starting with this one/ill take it to him in december to jinja uganda/its better to make a small gift like this each year/i gave jokwe a 60 degree wedge and so on/best james bayne ps i play geriatric golf happily but not brilliantly

Tried this driver for the first time today and it totally blew mw away. I have never hit a driver so far. 50 yards extra on some holes. Very forgiving and a great looking club. Get one.

This is by far the longest driver i have hit very underated and can be picked up for very little money

i bought this club because i was using an mp-001 with lite shaft that i was slicing, so i thought the shaft may be too flexilbe, with this club i have started hitting longer but more importantly straighter the 300 yard drive is only weeks away not years thanks.

Shafts aren't great but try it. This is a seriously underrated driver. I tried it in the winter and didn't really play well and hit a bomb on one hole. Now I am thinking back to that drive my Ping G2 is going 50 yards less because I get a nice high ball flight but it's not flat, it just floats up, balloons and drops. This driver provides a nice penetrating ball flight and looks very good at address. There are more forgiving drivers out now but this would only be 5-10 yards behind them at most.

i bought this club after using mizuno irons for years and they were great.i had a G2 10.5 but i got a lot of height and i wanted a club to keep it down a bit but boy does this club keep the ball down. immensly hard to hit but when u catch it (which is about 1 in every 40) it gets some distance

Having a try of this in preparation for a switch for my Titleist HcR and having got on well previously with the old Mizuno Blue Fire model. The first thing I've noticed is that I've hit some very bad shots with this and they haven't finished too far off line and those I've hit well are achieving a few extra yards. I must say I'm beginning to feel a little inadequate when I read mid handicap players are hitting effortless 300yd+ drives with this - I'm on my toes for those ones! All in all a good (and forgiving) club though and one I'll perservere with - when you take into account the price, an excellent buy.

Earlys days for a full review, but used once so far and 9 out of ten straight compared to a shocking 3 or 4 before. Excellent condition club and service. Thank you.

this club is a very powerful driver that suits a golfer that likes to hit it hard and gets it between 250-300 yards. dont fell bad if you dont hit it well straight away because it took me over a month to crack it.10/10

I was very impressed with the MX-500. I previously had a Mizuno Blue Rage with Regular flex shaft, so plumbed for the same amount of flex. The MX-500 was so easy to hit, and ultimately very forgiving. No real effort is required to hit drives of over 300 yards, in my case this club has added around 40-50 yards per drive.

Similar to my old R5 with the same shaft. Nice set up view and easier to get high launch with 10.5 £ prolaunch stiff.

Model Info 2007

Mizuno MX-500 Driver. Winner of Golf Illustrated's Big Driver Test. The Mizuno MX-500 driver delivers a high launch trajectory, optimum spin rates, and maximum ball speed for explosive distance. A new, innovative graphite toe insert and graphite top crown allow the ideal amount of weight redistribution around the club head, thus positioning the COG lower and deeper for a high, straight ball flight. In addition, the new Perimeter weight slot distributes weight deep and toward the perimeter for increased forgiveness and an easy, high launch. Six different CORTECH face areas generate high initial ball velocity for greater distance. This is a conforming driver, with the maximum allowable USGA 460 cc volume for unsurpassed forgiveness.
